APsystems LTE USB Dongle

A cellular connection for sites where Wi-Fi was never going to work. The LTE USB dongle gives your APsystems monitoring hardware its own independent path to the internet, over the mobile network, with no dependence on the building's router, password or uptime.

The problem it solves

Monitoring assumes an internet connection, and a surprising number of solar sites do not have a usable one. Detached garages and barns sit well outside router range. New-build sites have an array commissioned months before broadband is installed. Rental properties have a network the installer has no business asking for credentials to. Remote ground mounts, pump stations and agricultural buildings often have no fixed line at all.

Why it is not just a convenience

A monitoring gateway that cannot reach the internet is an expensive local logger. The warranty claim you file two years from now depends on production history that was actually uploaded. So does the service call where you prove a module has been underperforming since installation. Connectivity is not a nice-to-have on the data side — it is the thing that makes the data exist.

Before you order

Check LTE coverage at the equipment location, not at the street — equipment rooms, basements and metal outbuildings attenuate signal significantly. Confirm data plan requirements and carrier compatibility for your region, as these are not universal. Verify compatibility with your specific ECU model before ordering.
